Qingdao is the first to undertake the highest level professional "International Exhibition".

         The Fifth National Exhibition of orthodox calligraphy works is co sponsored by the Chinese Calligraphers Association, the Shandong Federation of literary and art circles, and the Propaganda Department of the CPC Qingdao Municipal Committee. The exhibition took more than half a year to prepare and received 17409 works. Among them, there are 10027 regular script, 4915 official script and 2467 seal script. After strict evaluation by the jury, 293 authors' works entered the exhibition.

       According to the relevant person in charge of the Chinese Calligrapher Association, in the development and evolution of Chinese characters, the three styles of Zhuan, Li and Kai are usually called Zhengti. After a long period of inheritance and accumulation, Zhengti calligraphy has formed a profound aesthetic tradition and become an important part of Chinese calligraphy culture. On the one hand, the evolution of Zhengti script, which takes Zhuan, Li and Kai as the second order, is a sign of the development and change of Chinese characters; on the other hand, since Qin Shihuang's Xiaozhuan style "shutongwen", it has laid the foundation for thousands of years of Chinese civilization and even national unity, so the significance of Zhengti script is far beyond calligraphy.

     The National Exhibition of authentic calligraphy works is one of the highest level single exhibitions sponsored by the Chinese Calligrapher Association. It is an authoritative exhibition representing authentic calligraphy. So far, it has been successfully held for four times. After years of continuous exploration and innovation, it has become a high-end authoritative platform for gathering the majority of calligraphers, launching high-quality products and talents, and focusing on showing the artistic level of contemporary authentic calligraphy. In order to implement Xi Jinping's new socialist ideology with Chinese characteristics and the nineteen spirits of the party, he advocated the calligrapher's submerging calligraphy skills, studied the calligraphy in depth, and promoted the calligraphy art in the contemporary era to build the book style in the inheritance and development. China Calligraphers Association decided to hold the fifth China's fifth regular calligraphy exhibition.

       The first national calligraphy exhibition held in Lanting since 2002 has never been held. The holding of the "Fifth National Exhibition of authentic calligraphy works" in Qingdao will be a historic breakthrough in the history of Qingdao's calligraphy development, and also a rare opportunity for the development of Qingdao's culture and art, especially the take-off of the calligraphy industry. Under more superior background conditions and efforts of all parties, the exhibition will certainly achieve greater and better results.
